Firm History

Greg de Bruin, LS, PE was a Principal at A. James de Bruin & Sons, LLP and then President of DeBruin Geomatics, LS, PE, PC, both reputable firms in the Long Island engineering industry. Christine Gayron, LS worked as a Project Manager at these two firms for more than 10 years. In 2010, Greg and Christine decided to join forces to form Gayron de Bruin Land Surveying and Engineering, PC.


The staff at Gayron de Bruin includes six licensed Land Surveyors, one of which is also a licensed Professional Engineer. We run four field crews plus office technicians. Every project is managed by a licensed professional or GIS expert. Construction Inspectors work under the direction of our licensed Professional Engineer. Equipment and software used include the following: Leica 3D Laser Scanner, Leica Robotic Total Stations, Digital levels with invar rods, Leica dual frequency Survey Grade GPS, MicroStation/InRoads, Civil 3D, Innerspace Depthsounder with HyPack Software, ESRI ArcGIS for desktop and server.

Christine Gayron, LS

Christine Gayron, LS


Christine is the co-founder of GdB. She is known in the industry for exceptional client service and response time. Her experience in the Geomatics profession dates back to 1999.

Christine has managed surveying and mapping contracts for government clients and private clients including NYSDOT, the Army Corps of Engineers, Town of Oyster Bay, Town of Hempstead, Verizon, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, NYC DEP, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and other local municipalities.

Christine is someone that design professionals turn to when surveying and mapping is needed quickly and accurately. Christine specializes in understanding the client's needs and fulfilling specific owner requirements.

Christine earned a Bachelors Degree in Geology from CUNY Queens College. Christine has experience presenting continuing education courses in Land Surveying to other industry professionals. She is a New York State Licensed Land Surveyor and remains active in the following professional organizations:

Greg is a co-founder of GdB. Greg has more than 36 years experience in civil engineering and land surveying. He has overseen projects from all surveying and geomatics disciplines. His career has focused on GIS, database, and transportation projects for public works, utility owners, and private clients.

Greg is always pushing the envelope of new technology and automation in the field of measurement and mapping. He is involved in all survey projects and continues to customize and automate our procedures.

Greg's philosophy is that in order to be successful, we must constantly raise the bar in the surveying and mapping industry, which includes exceptional client service, cutting edge technology, and the most accurate work in a short turnaround time.

Greg earned a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Greg is a registered Licensed Land Surveyor and Professional Engineering in New York State. He is a mentor in the Surveying industry and he remains active in the following professional organizations:

Jason Graf

Jason R. Graf, LS

Vice President

With more than 14 years of Geomatics experience, Jason is our geospatial data manager with expertise in desktop, server and web-based GIS. He uses cutting edge technology to run large scale mapping and design projects, like Verizon's fiber to the home rollout.

Jason is a computer programmer, using those skills to create customizations in the CAD, GIS and Office environments. Jason manages surveying projects for land development, roadway design, construction stakeout, subsurface utility engineering and 3D laser scanning and modeling.

Jason studied Chemical Engineering at University of Maryland, College Park. He is a member of the following professional organizations:

Matthew Aissa, LS

Matthew Aissa, LS

Project Manager

Matt is our Survey Manager and CADD Supervisor. With more than 20 years experience, he is an expert in all areas of surveying and mapping and oversees all field and office operations. His vast experience makes him an invaluable asset on any mapping project. He has surveyed sites for transportation, construction, environmental, public works, hydrographic, and GIS projects for both government and private industry clients.

Matt is known for efficiently taking a project from field to finish. He is an expert at using all of our advanced equipment and software. Our clients often comment about what a pleasure it is to work with Matt.

Matt earned an Associate of Science in Civil Engineering Technologies from SUNY Delhi and went on to study Civil Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. He is registered as a Licensed Land Surveyor in the state of New York and he is a member of Nassau Suffolk Civil Engineers.

The principals and employees at GdB have worked on transportation, environmental, and construction contracts for NYSDOT Regions 10 and 11, the US Army Corps of Engineers, NYC DEP, NYC DOT, NYC DPR, Nassau County, Suffolk County, as well as local Towns and Villages. In the private industry we work for contractors, design professionals, commercial developers and the general public.
